Welcome to Wakeman Boys and Girls Club
Thursday, August 16, 2007

Perhaps you've heard the name "Wakeman" mentioned in conversation but weren't sure what it's all about. Long thought of as a Fairfield moms resource, the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club is one of the best values in the Southport/Westport area.
Opened in 1998, Wakeman, located in Southport, is a member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. These clubs offer kids a great platform to build self esteem and honest values. With over 3,400 members, the Club offers boys and girls grades 1-12 in the surrounding communities a vast array of daily activities, as well as a safe supervised place to meet new friends and participate in an endless amount of terrific programs.
A brief list of some of these programs include:
Basketball
Lacrosse
Field Hockey
Daily supervised drop-in open gym
Computers
Bingo nights
Community Service Clubs
Road Races
Vacation Camps
Arts and Crafts
Birthday Parties (sign up fast)
Dodgeball
Fine Art Exhibit
Yoga
Keep an eye out for the fall Wakeman brochure due to arrive in your mailbox sometime late summer.
Membership prices remain one of the best deals in town and entitle the kids to use of all of the Club's facilities and playing fields as well as access to all programs and leagues throughout the year.
One piece of advice....watch the registration dates and mail forms in ASAP. Classes and teams fill up and you don't want to be left out.

You'll also always be able to find Wakeman activities and deadlines on Suzy's calendar.
