Halloween Happenings
Monday, October 24, 2011

It's an action-packed week around town full of spooky fun for all ages. Here's the scoop on what's happening:
Annual Children’s Halloween Parade
Thursday, October 27 at 3 PM
THE PARADE HAS BEEN CANCELLED BUT FESTIVITIES ARE ON IN THE TOWN HALL
Meet in front of the Westport/Weston Family Y on the corner of the Post Road and Main Street at 3 PM. The parade will travel up Main Street, down Avery Drive and on to Town Hall. Entertainment, refreshments and a surprise will be given out to the kids Veterans Green at 3:45 PM. This event is for children ages 7 and under. In the event bad weather, the festivities will be moved into Westport's Town Hall starting at 3 PM.
Second Annual ~ Green Halloween at the Westport Historical Society Lawn
Thursday, October 27, starting at 3 pm
Come join us on the lawn during the downtown Halloween parade. We are proud to be partnering with the dynamic parents of the Westport Food Revolution as they present the second annual Green Halloween event. Green Halloween is a national movement focusing on “greening” the holiday through educational and motivational campaigns to recycle candy wrappers, improve the quality of Halloween handouts and increase awareness of the unnecessary waste associated with the holiday. The Westport Food Revolution proposes that we get back to a scaled-down, super fun holdiay with healthy hand-outs and a focus on activities instead of gluttony! Come join as we “Think Outside the Candy Box” and offer the community tons of free samples from national vendors like Stretch Island Fruit Company and Nature’s Path. Go to Greenhalloween for more info and tips and WestportFoodRevolution for community events & information. Free Admission
