Play with Your Food

Play with Your Food has a serious treat in store for all you theater loving gal pals. George Bernard Shaw’s classic romantic comedy, Pygmalion, turns 100 this year. The story of Professor Henry Higgins and his Cockney student, Eliza Doolittle, have charmed audiences for a century now, and inspired many other works, including the popular musical, My Fair Lady. But it is rarely performed.

Which is why Play with Your Food will present an excerpt from Pygmalion at it’s final performances of the spring 2012 season. Two celebrated area actors will assume the rolls of Henry Higgins and Alfred P. Doolittle, Eliza’s father. Westonite, Daniel Gerroll and Norwalk resident Norman Allen are both British-born veterans of the stage and screen, with multiple Broadway credits between them.

The scene will follow performances of Bottom of the Ninth, a comedy by Tony Sportiello, on April 3 (in Fairfield) and April 10, 11 and 12 (in Westport).
