The Westport Country Playhouse wants your kids to "stretch their artistic wings"
Suzy would love to do that too! Here's what they're offering:
July 7-July 25 (Monday-Friday)
Summer is a great time for children to explore the arts or stretch their artistic wings. This year, Westport Country Playhouse has developed two summer camps staffed with artist-educators who are professionals in their field and are dedicated to nurturing creativity in each child. Through fun and enriching activities, children learn to use their bodies, voices, minds and imaginations. Children gain both performing and lifelong skills in our programs such as teamwork, active listening and creativity.
Grades 2-3
9-1 pm
Students will work with artist-educators on scenes from classic folk and fairy tales for a presentation on the final day of class. This workshop, designed specifically for young actors, offers students exposure to the discipline and techniques of theatre in a fun creative environment using an approach which combines music, movement and drama.
Grades 4-5
2-6 pm
Students will work with artist-educators in the preparation of scenes from age-appropriate scripts including Shakespeare's stories for a presentation on the final day of class. This workshop, designed specifically for developing actors, offers students exposure to the discipline and techniques of theatre in a creative environment using an approach which combines music, movement and drama.
