Grease is the Word
Sunday, July 06, 2008

Summer Stage 2008 sponsored by Wilton Children's Theater, will present two performances of "Grease," on Thursday, July 10th and Friday, July 11th, at 7:30PM at Wilton High School's Clune Center for the Arts.
Grease, written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, takes us back to 1959 at Rydell High School. Grease is the story of teen-age life in the late 1950's complete with gum-chewing, coiffed hair, turned up collars and beehive hairdos! Catch the ultra-cool greasers and their Pink Lady gals as they dance and sing their way through the 50's, featuring the songs "Summer Nights," "Beauty School Dropout," "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee" and "We Go Together".
Please note that this version of Grease is the "school version," modified to be age-appropriate for all audiences.
The show is a culmination of a four-week summer theater experience and features 50 Wilton students. The play is directed by Skip Ploss with musical direction from Anna DeMasi and choreography by Laura Edwards. The Assistant Director is Jenna Bauman, Wilton High School graduate and Wilton Children's Theater Summer Stage alumna. Assistants are Brad Geyer, Tim Cunningham and Brendan Joyce who are all Wilton Children Theater alumnus and Wilton High School graduates. High School students Justine Neubarth and Nicole D'Elisa are interns on staff. Peggy Garbus and Michele Cooke are the Producers.
Tickets are $10 and will be available during rehearsal at the Clune Center, from July 7 through July 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will be sold at the door, one hour prior to each performance. Seating is open.
