Fraiche is open
Usually Fairfield foodies head south to Westport and Norwalk in search of outstanding fare. Now those of you south of Exit 19 can drive north for the opening of chef Marc Lippman's first restaurant venture in the Greenfield Hill section of Fairfield.

Lippman, who lives in Redding, has been associated with well-known dining establishments including the exclusive Las Ventanas Al Paraiso in Los Cabos, Mexico, New York City's Wild Blue and most recently, Ocean Drive in Norwalk.

On Friday October 26th, Fraiche will open its doors in what once housed Greenfield Hill's neighborhood dining destination, La Colline Verte.

This modern American restaurant will feature a market-driven menu, inspired by the seasons with an "urban farmhouse" aesthetic designed by Jason Oliver Nixon and John Loecke of Brooklyn design firm, John Loecke Inc.

A few offerings from the appetizer menu include:

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with Coconut, Cilantro and Maple Syrup
Beef Tartare with Jonah Gold Apples, Leeks, Buttermilk Blue Cheese and Pistachio Vinaigrette

Entrees are creative and seasonal.

Reservations are encouraged by calling 256-5744 or visiting opentable.com
