The Diary of Anne Frank to Open
Thursday, September 16, 2010

One of the 20th century’s most compelling stories was told by a young girl who hid for two years with her family from the Nazis in an attic in Amsterdam. She is, of course, Anne Frank. And her now famous diary has inspired a play, “The Diary of Anne Frank,” by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, adapted by Wendy Kesselman.
The play opens at the Westport Country Playhouse on September 28, and runs through October 30. In true playhouse form, a host of related happenings will be held parallel to the run of the play. These include discussions with Anne Frank scholars and authors, film screenings, family dinners in the rehearsal barn, a diary-making workshop for families, and many other intriguing and illuminating events.
