Walk the walk, Westport! This Sunday, October 3, residents will head out to Sherwood Island State Park for a 5K shoreline walk to benefit Positive Directions, a Connecticut-based non-profit, dedicated to supporting individuals, families and communities by providing prevention programs and treatment services for mental health and addiction. By participating in Walk the Walk, you help Positive Directions provide programs on prevention, adolescent and adult counseling services, interventions, community forums and free telephone advisory services. Kids should tag along for fun activities. And leashed dogs are also welcome. There’s even a dog costume contest for canines of the theatrical persuasion. Get out there and walk, galpals.
