This is the first restaurant review penned by one of Suzy's loyal readers.  Today, Kirsten kicks off the series with her take on Acqua. If you'd like to go out to dinner with a coupon for $50 and write about the experience. Email us: .

A staple on Westport's Main Street, Acqua is a 2-story Tuscan restaurant overlooking the Saugatuck River.  A great place to stop for lunch with a galpal  -- the "street-level cafe" has its own menu with a wide selection of entrees for just $12.

The second floor boasts two rooms designed to transport you to the Italian countryside.  An extensive wine list includes selections by the glass (ranging from $8-$15) and bottles from $24 on up. Service is friendly and attentive, and early on a Friday night you can find many families enjoying a meal.  Although not a crayon-and-paper-table-cloth kind of place, they do have a wood-burning stove that churns out some delicious pizzas kids are sure to love. A must-try entree is the chicken that is roasted in the same manner.

The menu is not so overwhelming that it is difficult to make a choice, and it seems that any choice you make is a good one.  There are daily specials, an excellent Caesar salad and delicious goat cheese fritter among the appetizers. There are a few choices of pasta, meat and seafood for main courses. Acqua's dessert specialty is not to be missed --  4 different types of soufflé for dessert.  Don't worry if you didn't order beforehand...it is worth the wait.

One thing this diner noticed was the round tables for large parties, which I find much more conducive to an intimate setting among friends. I look forward to my next dinner party there!
