Why is it that one of the most classic of American dishes, the crown jewel of all comfort food is missing on most restaurant menus? Do we really have to schlep all the way to the East Village when we want our Mac 'n Cheese fix?
Suzy is thrilled to say that the answer is a resounding NO!
macdaddy's Macaroni & Cheese Bar has been open for business in Georgetown since July, serving up about 20 unique and creative takes on the original comfort food. A couple that Suzy has her eye on include the Mac Mushroom, (Crimini & Shiitake mushrooms, Porcini emulsion, Manchego and Truffle oil) and the Mac French Onion (Gruyere and caramelized onion topped with Applewood Bacon) It's almost impossible to choose. For those of us that can't, there's even a sampler that let's you pick 3!
It's a casual eclectic place with bight orange walls and accents, perfect for the kids, outfitted with a full wall of blackboard space. Robert, the owner says he's "serving comfort food for discomforting times."
We're good with that!
It's labeled self serve, you order and pay at the bar, and your food is delivered to your table. Mac 'n Cheese comes in 3 sizes served up in cast iron pans. Salads are available. There's also a full bar which includes wine by the bottle and the glass.

A great place to bring my kids. They loved the huge chalkboard, and the mac and cheese was great!! Love the space. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food comes served in a hot skillet so advise your children not to touch the plate. We can't wait to go back.
