A Healthy Pizza Fix
Sunday, March 28, 2010

Suzy was intrigued by the sign in the window of Westport's Planet Pizza advertising "Whole Wheat Pizza".
With bikini season on the horizon, we're working diligently -- who isn't?-- on our figure. So we piled the kids in the mini-van to pick up some Whole Wheat pies, hoping to fulfill a carb craving without disastrous calorie overload.
We loved it. Plenty of pizza pleasure without the guilt. Even Suzy's picky Pizza Princess deemed it, "delicious".
The Planet Pizza pies are extremely thin. Most guys wouldn't dig this thin crust, but if you're "thinking thin" then this pie is for you.
Planet Pizza will prepare its whole wheat pizza with shredded or fresh mozzarella. Your kids will want the former, but Suzy loved the latter since we didn't feel bloated from thick, cheesy slices. Instead, we enjoyed a very light dinner. Add some veggies and you're good to go.
Suzy's Tip: You can order online. Also check out the coupons section on the website for weekly deals.
